Mary B. Esteves
Mary Esteves is President of Nova Consulting, Inc., an organization that helps well-run firms become extraordinary companies based on over 30 years of management and organizational consulting to heads of major corporations. A counseling psychologist with extensive management experience, Ms. Esteves is dedicated to helping executives attain excellence in their marketplace through optimizing their leadership and employee talent for greater productivity and profitability. This enhanced business performance is a result of a unique blend of innovative structures, extraordinary leadership, and seamless relationships. Her expertise spans national and international markets ranging from pharmaceutical, chemical, transportation and consumer products to telecommunication, computer, financial and advertising.
In her career, Mary Esteves has headed other distinguished consulting organizations. She was President of Integra Consulting, where consultants and researchers implemented innovative forms of leadership to improve individual, group and organizational functioning. She and her team provided customized leadership, climate, and cultural consulting services to meet the business improvement goals of a wide variety of client organizations, including succession planning, executive coaching and team building.
Previously she was Owner-Partner and Managing Director for the Hay Group's North and South America Human Resources Planning and Development Business Unit. In addition to running this operation, she consulted to the public and private sectors on selecting, appraising, developing and managing human resources to excellence factors for competitive advantage. She is an expert in organizational and job competency assessment; motivation and management training; and career planning, appraisal and development for multinational clients spanning many major industries.
Before that, Ms. Esteves was an Officer and Senior Vice President at McBer and Company. During her ten years there, she served in a number of positions, including Head of Marketing, Research and Development and Senior Account Manager. She helped clients reduce product development cycle time and improve bottom-line results in numerous industries, including the aircraft, computer, food, pharmaceutical, and hydrocarbons businesses. Earlier, Ms. Esteves headed the Applied Behavioral Sciences Group at a government research and development laboratory where she was in charge of individual and organizational development programs.
A published author on entrepreneurial innovation, organizational competencies, life and career planning, goal setting, values clarification, and organizational effectiveness for women, Ms. Esteves has also served as a psychologist and consultant to a community hospital and social services agency. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and has pursued advanced education with National Training Laboratories and the Institute of Social Research at the University of Michigan, among other institutions.
